Sustainability – We Can All Play A Part
Being sustainable helps to improve the quality of our lives. We want to make sure that we have the resources needed for our children and grandchildren in the future. Sustainability means that our future generations will have finite number of resources that are used conservatively. There are a number of sustainable living tips that we can apply to our everyday lives to aid the mission of saving the earth and reducing the negative impact on the planet.
The benefits of being sustainable
There are a number of benefits to being sustainable. The primary benefit is that it ensures our future. Wherever in the world we live, we will all be impacted by climate change its negative effects so we all have an obligation to each other and future generations. When we focus on being sustainable, everyone gets to benefit and live in healthier, clean-living conditions. Ultimately, our society will benefit from improved air and water quality, less landfills and more renewable energy sources. If you are committed to sustainability, you can reduce your carbon footprint and we can manage the amount of toxins released into the environment, helping to keep us safe.
What we do
There are a number of things that we can do in order to contribute. Here at Central Extrusions, we produce our mouldings and extrusions from Dryflex Thermoplastic Elastomers (TPE). This means that the extrusions have the same properties as synthetic rubber and are also completely recyclable.
We look into our waste management by recycling and reprocessing all of our waste product in house and therefore produce zero manufactured waste resulting in a smaller carbon footprint. Our policy is to conduct our operations in a manner that is environmentally sustainable. Despite the fact that business activities do contribute to the environment in some way, we think it is important to be responsible and limit these contributions in as many ways as we can so the environmental impact is positive and least damaging.

What you can do – sustainability and recycling tips
There are easy tips and steps we can all follow in order to live more sustainably every day. Following these steps does not mean that you will have to give up things or reduce your quality of life at all! It may actually make you feel happier knowing that you are contributing to a better, stable world. Unfortunately, thousands of animals die every year because of plastic. Cutting down on your plastic waste by avoiding plastic made products and using reusable bags will help to reduce the amount of plastic left in the ocean harming animals. Since plastic is non-biodegradable, it ends up in landfills unless they are recycled and reused. Try to opt for more plastic free products to help. Another tip is to recycle. It’s so convenient and easy to do so, just make sure to have a recycle bin in your home and business, its minimal effort and helps the environment. Lastly, try to cut down on driving as much as possible, at least for short distances. It will help reduce carbon emissions, therefore saving the environment. You may opt for an electric car but if not, you can bike, or run or walk. It’s a great way to get exercise and reduce how much you need to rely on transportation that has a negative impact on the environment.
